THE BRIDGE THERAPY CENTRE
We are a group of highly trained and experienced therapists who together provide a broad range of high quality therapies for individuals, couples and families across all ages.
With a team approach we can help match an individual’s needs to a specific therapy and, as needs change different therapies can be provided without having to search elsewhere.
Although by no means exhaustive, the list below details areas that we have particular experience in helping:
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Trauma and Abuse
Work related stress
Issues relating to attachment and adoption
Children in Care
School related difficulties
Coping with physical conditions including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Challenges associated with Autism and ADHD
And any child, young person or adult who simply may be struggling
with some aspect of their life.
HOW WE CAN HELP
We believe for any therapeutic intervention to be effective it needs to be based upon a sound process of assessment as well as the establishment of a trusting therapeutic relationship.
At the beginning of any work we always seek to establish a shared understanding of the nature and development of concerns and to agree together what would be the most appropriate form of support. In reaching such a decision, reference is made to the research evidence available as to which therapeutic approach is likely to be most effective for a particular difficulty/concern.
When working with children we believe a collaborative relationship with parent/carer(s) is essential whilst ensuring a child/young person has an opportunity to meet on their own depending on their age and wishes as well as consent of their parent/carer.
The core therapies and services currently provided by the Bridge Centre include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Couple and Relationship Therapy
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
THE BRIDGE TEAM
All team members at the Bridge Centre are trained and accredited with widely recognised bodies and have extensive experience of working within the National Health Service and Social Care settings. They all share a commitment to on-going professional development and training as well as receiving regular supervision.
At the heart of the Bridge Centre is a shared belief that for any therapeutic approach to be effective a therapist must hold a commitment and ability to create a safe and trusting space from where an individual, couple or family can feel secure enough to explore the challenges they are facing and to find new ways of negotiating, managing and coping with such challenges.
